Jose and Ankit organized a symposium in ICPDF 2023 (International Conference on Plasticity, Damage & Fracture (internationalplasticity.com)) entitled "High Strain-rate Phenomena, Dynamic Fracture and Fragmentation" which gathered the most reputed scientists within the field of dynamic fracture of engineering materials.

Guadalupe organizes a mini-symposium in CMM-SOLMECH 2022 (CMM-SolMech 2022 (pan.pl)) together with Katarzyna Kowalczyk-Gajewska (IPPT PAN, Warsaw, Poland), Sébastien Mercier (Université de Lorraine, Metz, France) and Ankit Srivastava (Texas A&M, USA). The symposium welcomes contributions on micromechanics and multiscale modelling of heterogeneous engineering materials.
Katarzyna, Guadalupe, Sebastien and Ankit have organized a thematic session at SOLMECH 2022 on Micromechanics of Heterogeneous Materials with the support of QUANTIFY. It was a great success with fantastic talks, and a good opportunity to disseminate the research activities of the network.
The NSM group, formed by 3 researchers and 4 PhD students, is part of the Department of Continuum Mechanics and Structural Analysis at the University Carlos III of Madrid. Research lines include mechanical characterization at high strain rates, formulation of constitutive theories and analytical models for instabilities in ductile materials, nonlinear vibration in elastic structures, etc. The group has 5 on-going competitive grants, 2 National and 3 European, including an ERC Starting Grant.
